Game rules

Sit down face-to-face with a partner and stare into each other’s eyes! Which one of you can maintain eye contact for longer? While you're playing, try to observe each other's faces as much as possible! Say something nice about them and watch how their face changes.

Try the game yourself!

Watch how you feel! What did you see in the other person's face?
Tell us in the comments at the bottom of the page!

What can you learn from this game?

There are situations where we are getting more attention or where we are more attentive to others (e.g. job interview, first date). It is important in both situations to feel comfortable. How did it feel to observe the other person? What was your impression of your partner? How did you feel while you were being observed? It helps if you are aware of these things in similar situations and of what messages non-verbal communication sends you.

Do you want to improve? Keep playing, at other times, in other places, with other people!

Play the game with as many people you know as possible, including, if possible, people you would otherwise have less contact with or have only recently met! See if your feelings change with time or experience if it's not the first time you've played it with someone. See how you feel in different situations!
