Game rules

Go to a partner who you think has little in common with you! Look for five things (e.g., traits, experiences, hobbies, favourites, life experiences, goals) that you do have in common. Try to find something that is interesting, exciting, special about you.

Try the game yourself!

How did you feel when you did find common ground with the other person?
Tell us in the comments at the bottom of the page!

What can you learn from this game?

In peer situations, we may not be friends with everyone or like everyone to the same extent, but it helps us to work together if we can find similarities with each other, if we feel we belong to the same team.

Do you want to improve? Keep playing, at other times, in other places, with other people!

Beyond the external or superficial similarities, try to find deeper, more unique similarities with the other person! Give them feedback on what you have in common and how it feels to know it! Play the game with as many people you know as possible and see how your feelings change towards the group!
